The Most Revolutionary Record Cleaner We've Ever Used!
Enormously effective, completely effortless and virtually silent, the Vinyl Cleaner uses a combination of ultrasonic waves, microfiber cleaning drums and a proprietary cleaning fluid to dig deep into the grooves of the LP and remove more grime, even miniscule particles. The Vinyl Cleaner is fully automatic, cleans and dries both sides of the record simultaneously and although it’s not as fast as other record cleaners, we feel the combination of amazing cleaning powers and near silent operation makes the Vinyl Cleaner worthy of serious consideration.
How To Use The Vinyl Cleaner
Simply insert a record into the vertical slot in the Vinyl Cleaner, press the button and walk away. About 5 minutes later, a green LED comes on and you’ll pull out the most pristine, gorgeous sounding record you’ve ever played. More detail, less noise, richer tonal balance, you’ll even hear stuff you’ve never heard before. The sound quality is on a par with an outrageous scrubbing regimen, without all the manual labor. This alone is worth the price of admission.
The first time we came across the Vinyl Cleaner was in a room with moderate ambient noise and we didn’t even realize it was on! Although the Vinyl Cleaner is not completely silent, it is surprisingly quiet, especially when compared to the more popular record cleaning machines on the market. There is a slight whir as the record slowly turns and the fans do make their presence known, but overall this is a very quiet record cleaning machine.
How The Vinyl Cleaner Uses Ultrasonics
Ultrasonic waves have been used for years to cause small molecules to vibrate; the medical field uses them for imaging and even to break up kidney stones. The Vinyl Cleaner uses ultrasonic waves to break the surface tension of the proprietary cleaning fluid allowing it to penetrate deep into the grooves of the record where it latches onto contaminants. As the record rotates out of the ultrasonic field, surface tension returns to the cleaning fluid which pulls quickly and completely out of every nook and cranny taking the debris with it. The cleaning solution is thoroughly filtered during the cleaning process to avoid recontamination.
How The Vinyl Cleaner Uses Ultrasonics (Advanced)
A physical effect called "cavitation" results from the generation of ultrasonic frequencies in a liquid. In this cavitation process ultrasonic "compression waves" are created by an ultrasonic transducer. When the amplitude of these waves increases to a level where the surface tension of the liquid is broken, the fluid will "tear" apart leaving behind millions of microscopic vacuum bubbles. These vacuum bubbles rapidly compress or implode creating millions of tiny liquid jets small enough to penetrate even the smallest grooves of an LP. This process, also called "microagitation," displaces any contaminants on the surface of the LP.
Vinyl Cleaner Fluid
The Vinyl Cleaner comes with 2 vials of concentrated proprietary Audio Desk cleaning fluid, developed specifically for this machine. Each vial when diluted with 4.5 liters of distilled water (1.2 Gallons) cleans about 200 fairly clean LPs or 100 dirty LPs. The cleaning solution is thoroughly filtered during the cleaning process to avoid recontamination.
